Death is a process of transformation. Fungus and flowers grow from decaying corpses. For me, this is a strange source of comfort, joy and hope. Perhaps only by becoming comfortable with the truth and vitality of death, might we stand a chance of saving our species from causing our own extinction and perhaps if we cannot save ourselves, we can at least take comfort that we will become something else.
Please note: This painting contains some florescent pigments. Though I use the highest quality florescent paints which are coated with a top of the range UV protective varnish, this artwork should not be exposed to direct sunlight for an extended period of time as there is a risk of colour fading. In fact, this rule should be applied to all paintings.
